1. [The Petition] [19 December 1836]

“The petition of Margaret McAninch Administratrix of . . . William McAninch late of Franklin

Township in said County Senior deceased . . . William McAninch lately died intestate leaving your

petitioner, his widow, and without lawful issue . . . at the time of his death seized and in possession

of . . . land situate in the said township of Franklin adjoining lands of John Brown, George B.

P[ankins?] estate and Gabriel Philibert Loeben, containing twenty acres or thereabouts, having a

square log house thereon erected and two or three acres cleared . . . Subject to the payments

(in work) of about fifteen dollars of the purchase money to the said John Brown . . . this

pensioned estate of the said decedent is insufficient for the payment of the debts of said decedent . . .

Your petitioner . . . prays the Court to authorize her to make sale of . . . decedent real estate for

the purpose of paying the said debts

said Court do order and devist that the said Administratrix should . . . sell the said premises . . .

Dec. 20, 1836  Court . . . grant an order upon Administratrix giving bond with security in $300.

 

4. [The Bond] [11 February 1837]  Know all men by these presents that we Margaret

McAninch and Joseph Bowser and Daniel Swiegart ... firmly bound unto the Commonwealth

of Pennsylvania in the sum of three hundred dollars ... we bind ourselves jointly and severally . . .

March 21, 1837  Estate of Wm. McAninch, Sale of Real Estate  Report of admx made to

court and confirmed also admx directed to execute deed and deliver the same upon payment . . .

 

6. [The Report (Final Report)] [14 November 1837]

Margaret McAninch Adminstratrix of all and singular the goods and chattels of William McAninch

late of Franklin Township, Armstrong Co., dec’d, Reports . . . on the 11th day of February . . .

sold [the land] to G.P. Loebens . . . one hundred and twenty dollars he being the highest and best

bidder . . .
