HSM'1994 (survey)

The "Cemetery Research in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania" 1995 article reported on cemetery

surveys by (Arthur) Leroy McAninch (1914-1987) and Harold Stewart McAninch (1926-2006).

They listed 102 McAninch names buried in 20 cemeteries in Jefferson County, including nine

buried in "McAninch farm cemetery (So. of Brookville)" (cemetery number 1 on their 1994 list).

Their original 1994 list was sorted by given names (8 As, 5 Bs, 4 Cs . . . 8 Ws), although a few

people were cross-referenced with multiple names (e.g. both "Arthur" and "Leroy" on the list).

The full (HSM’1994) list (102 names) was printed in alphabetical order, with each name sorted by

leading letters [A.1] [A.2] . . ..[A.8], [B.1] . . . [B.5], [C.1] . . . [C.4], . . . [W.1] [W.2] . . . [W.8],

through all of the given names [MFHN’1995, Note 3].

Of the 102 names on the (HSM’1994) survey, nine are buried in the "McAninch farm cemetery",

the same nine McAninch people that were listed in the Tombstone Hoppin’ 1981 book. Re-sorted

by given names, these nine were part of the full (HSM’1994) list of 102 names printed in 1995.
