Hannah McAninch, b.ca.1814-1815, in Kentucky, was the daughter of Samuel McAninch and (Mary) Polly (Skidmore) McAninch [2nd daughter of Samuel, 1st daughter of Polly (Skidmore) McAninch]. Hannah married William Mann, 1 Sept. 1842, in Hendricks County, and they had at least one child, John Wesley Mann, born 27 Dec. 1849 [1847?]. |

By 1850, William has moved to Wapello County, Iowa, and is living with his brother, Granville Mann, without wife Hannah, and without son John. In 1862, William Mann, who is in the Civil War, asks his father (Asahel Mann, in Fremont County, Iowa) to go and get his son, John, from Indiana. [50]. |

In the 1850 census, John W. (surname should be Mann, not Hancock) [30c], is shown living with his grand-father Samuel McAninch [10]. It is not known when Hannah (McAninch) Mann died, nor where, but she probably died before the 1850 census. If she died ca.1849 in Hendricks County, then she would be another candidate for the list of ‘other possible burials in Pleasant Hill Cemetery’ [31]. |

By the time of the 1861 ‘partition’ of Samuel’s estate [27], Hannah has already died, and her son (John Wesley Mann) is the only heir to Hannah’s 1/13th share of the land; for unknown reasons, the court records show the father’s name, William Mann, instead of the minor son, John Wesley Mann. |
