In the Lincoln County Court Records, Dec. 10, 1804 [original, pg. 225],

"John McInnich [sic] relinquishes his claim to 200 acres of vacant land for which

he had claimed a certificate." Indeed, in the 1805 Lincoln County Tax Book, John is

shown with no land, 1 White Male over 21, and 2 horses.

The Casey County Tax Records start in 1808, and John is listed in 1808 and 1809,

on 223 acres of land first entered by Frederick Potts. John does not appear in the

Casey County records again, and the land entered by Frederick Potts does not appear

again in connection with "McAninch".

By 1810, John and Patsy had started a family, and the Census found them living

in Casey County, Kentucky. There were 6 people in the John McAninch household,

probable composition of this family (John, Patsy, 2 sons, and 2 daughters):

[1810] "McIninch [sic], John 2 0 1 0 0 - 2 0 1 0 0 - 0 0" [6 people]

[1810] 2 males, under 10 [b.1800-1810]

    John's oldest son (name unknown), age 6-8 (ref. 1820, age 16-18, b.1802-1804),

and John's second son, William, age 5-10 (b.1805-1810, per later census records)

[1810] 0 males, 10-16 [b.1794-1800]

[1810] 1 male, 16-26 [b.1784-1794]

John himself, head-of-household, although John age 30-31 in 1810 (b.1779-1780)

[assumption: adults John and Patsy both marked in the wrong columns (‘off by 1’)]

[1810] 0 males, 26-45 [b.1765-1784] (this is where John should have been counted)

[1810] 0 males, 45 & over [b.bef.1765]

[sub-total (2,1) 3 males]

[1810] 2 females, under 10 [b.1800-1810]

John's oldest daughter (name unknown), age 0-10 here, and

    John's second daughter (name unknown) age ~0 (ref. 0-10 in 1820, b.1810-1820)

[so, conclusion, John's second daughter (name unknown) was b.1810, before the

1810 census, the only way that she can be both 0-10 in 1810 and 10-16 in 1820]

[1810] 0 females, 10-16 [b.1794-1800]

[1810] 1 female, 16-26 [b.1784-1794]

John's wife Patsy (Cooper) McAninch, although Patsy age ~34 (b.ca.1776)

[assumption: adults John and Patsy both marked in the wrong columns (‘off by 1’)]

[1810] no females 26-45 [b.1765-1784] (where Patsy should have been counted)

[1810] 0 females, 45 & over [b.bef.1765]

[sub-total (2,1) 3 females]

[last 2 entries: 0 other people, 0 slaves]

[1810] Census, Kentucky, Casey County, NARA M252 Roll 9 pg.43 [indexed McInarick]
