Letter from Harold S. McAninch (Aurora, Colorado / Sun City, Arizona): |

"Uncle Leroy, as we called him [Arthur Leroy McAninch], back in the late 70's and 80's drove me around Jefferson County, and I had a chance to see Mt. Pleasant [cemetery] (now Content), Carrier (old & new [cemeteries]), Lakelawn (Reynoldsville [Cem.]) and also by the McAninch Farm Cemetery (no longer owned by a McAninch). I believe it was a farm in Knox Twp. that in 1865 was owned by S. McAninch. |

I have also been to the land once owned by George A. [1815-1899] in Rose Twp. [Jefferson Co.], where my father George S. [1901-1972], grand-father Harry Clyde [1872-1952], and great-grand-father George R. [1852-1921] were born. [The site] is now a coal strip mine, but I saw it back in the late 30's when the house and barn were still there. |

My uncle Arthur Leroy McAninch, b. 6 June 1914, d. 1 Oct. 1987, a couple years prior to his death, went around to the cemeteries in Jefferson Co. and made lists of McAninchs. |
