Patrick Shea said that he ". . . was asked to submit a chapter for the book . . . I provided the

write-up and all of the photos . . . The Sheas (my paternal ancestors) are profiled in the first

half of my chapter and the McIninches (my maternal ancestors) are profiled in the second half

of my chapter - here is a link to the write up and photos" "Shea Family // Montreal, Quebec"

In 2006, Patrick wrote a big article about his early McIninch family and their emigration to

Ontario, Canada, in the early 1800’s. Both McA/Ininch spellings appear in the early records

in County Antrim, Ulster Province, northern Ireland, although his family in Canada has always

used the McIninch spelling. Patrick has traveled through County Antrim, researching the early

story in Ireland himself, and provided a well-documented history, with sources and endnotes.

Henry McIninch in the 'Henry and Margaret McIninch Family Portrait' in the Photo Album book

is a son of Robert and Elizabeth (Colgon) McIninch, all of whom migrated from (northern) Ireland

to Ontario, Canada, as described in Patrick’s article:

"The Family of Robert McIninch and Elizabeth Colgon, from County Antrim, Ireland to

Hastings County, Ontario", article by Patrick M. Shea, MFHN v.XIV n.1 Jan. 2006 p.2006-02
