Pennsylvania: 1889 – The “Five Brothers” Photograph              McA-1889-Five-Brothers.jpg

See “Family Reunion” / Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, MFHN v.XII n.4 Oct. 2004 pg. 2004-31

The five brothers in the photograph, and their ages in 1889, are

“William L. (76), of Belleview; George (74), of Clover township; Samuel (77), of

Franklin, Venango County; Louis (67), of Eastern Kansas, and Sylvester (61), of Knox.”

Copies of the photograph came from both Linda Stitt, in Pennsylvania, and from Judith Gaby,

in New Mexico, both descendents of Sylvester J. ‘Squire’ McAninch.

Harold S. McAninch, who currently lives in Sun City, Arizona, wrote to say that he also has

“a copy of the five elderly men that my grand parents had. I did not know who any of them were

and I didn't know when it was taken so that was good news.” Harold is a descendent of

George A. McAninch (1815-1899; age 74 in 1889), so, we know that copies of the 1889

photograph have been handed down by the descendents of at least two different brothers.
