1. 1778: On 11 May 1778, Daniel McAninck (-ck spelling), was a certifying witness to a Bedford County (Pennsylvania) sheriff's election. Pennsylvania 6th series State Archives, Vol. XI, page 16 (Kathy McAninch found this) |

1788: On Saturday, 6 December 1788, in the Pittsburgh Gazette newspaper, List of Letters remaining in Post Office, Pittsburgh, November 24, 1788, listed alphabetically, last name under 'M' is "Daniel MCANINCH", spelled correctly. From book "The People and Times of Western Pennsylvania", page 47, compiled and indexed by Clara E. Duer, published by Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society, 4338 Bigelow Blvd, Pittsburgh PA 15213, April 1985; info on page 1 -- the Pittsburgh Gazette was published in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa., from July 29, 1786 through 1876; microfilm of the newspaper was loaned by the Newspaper Section, State Library of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, PA. |
