Registered the 10th day of October 1836 |

This indenture made this 15th of October 1835 between John Mcaninch [sic] of the State of |
|
|
Tennessee Giles County of the one part and Henry Surles of the same State and County of the |
|
|
other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of thirteen hundred and fifty dollars |
|
|
in hand paid by the said Surles to the said McAninch the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged |
|
|
hath given granted bargained and sold one certain tract of land containing four hundred and |
|
|
thirty four acres situated in the State and County aforesaid on the head of Donnahoes’s [sp?] |
|
|
Creek a branch of Richland Creek of Elk River it being a part of the Buncom [sp?] tract |
|
|
Beginning on a Sweet Gum and corner white oak scale bark hickory [sic] the[n] North 25 |
|
|
<unreadable> West 192 poles to white oak then South 302 poles to a stake, white and black oak |
|
|
pointers in the South boundary of the original tract then East 220 poles to two dogwoods and |
|
|
hickory pointers then North 256 poles to a red oak and black oak pointers then 66 <unreadable> |

|
|
To have and to hold with all the proffits [sic] arising therefrom and the said McAninch for himself |

|
his heirs and assigns do covenant and agree to and with the said Surles his heirs executors and |
|
|
assigns that the above described tract and parcel of land he will warrant and forever defend |
|
|
against the right title claim and interest of all and every person whereby the same may be |
|
|
incumbranced contrary to the true interest and meaning of these presents In [end page 188] |
