This indenture made the [blank] day of [blank] in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred

and thirty three between John McAninch of the one part, of the County of Giles and State of

Tennessee, and Jordan Whitley of the other part, of the County and State aforesaid ...

three hundred dollars ...

land situated in the County and State aforesaid on the waters of Richland Creek of Elk River and

it being a part of the Buncomb tract

Beginning on the south west corner of a forty acre tract that the said John McAninch bought from

Gray Edwards then south fifty poles to a stake and two forked cedars & post oak painters then east

fifty two poles to Hugh Campbell's north west corner in all eighty seven1/2 poles to a stake

Tho's Williams south west corner then north one hundred and eight poles to two cedars then west

fourteen poles to several cedars then north forty poles splitting the cave spring equally thence

east fourteen poles to two post oaks and cedar then North fifty two poles to a cedar then south

60 degrees west fifty two poles to an oak in Graves line thence north seven poles to a stake in

Buford's line thence west with said Ch's [Charles] Bufords line and passing his corner, in all

forty eight poles to two cedars thence south one hundred and twenty three poles to the beginning

containing ninety four and three fouth acres be the same more or less, the said John McAninch

reserves for his own use a cedar grove on the south west corner of said tract, that is to say, the timber

in said grove ...

aforesaid John McAninch the within named bargainer with whom I am personally acquainted

and who acknowledged that he executed the within for the purposes therein contained tax paid
