This indenture made on the 27th day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred |
|
|
and fourteen between Aaron Brown of one part and John McAninch of the other part both of the |
|
|
County of Giles and State of Tennessee. Witnesseth that for [and] in consideration of the sum of |
|
|
five hundred and fifty dollars in hand paid to the said Aaron Brown, the receipt whereof is hereby |
|
|
acknowledged, hath granted bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents doth grant bargain |
|
|
sell and convey unto said John McAninch a certain tract or parcel of land lying and situate in the |
|
|
aforesaid County and State on the west side of Richland creek of Elk river. |
|
|
Beginning at a honey locust and ash and running east thirty four and half chains to |
|
|
Thomas Westmoreland line thence south twenty nine degrees west forty chains and two pole to |
|
|
an elm Thence south thirty two degrees East thirty chain to the corner on a poplar, thence south |
|
|
twenty six chains to the corner on an ironwood thence due West twenty eight and one half chain |
|
|
to the corner on a Lynn [sic], the same being on the original line thence due North eighty and half |
|
|
chain along the original line to the Beginning, containing by survey two hundred and ten acres be |
|
|
the same more or less |
|
|
To have and to hold the above described land and granted premises with all the appurtenances |
|
|
thereunto belonging to the said John McAninch to the only proper use and behoof of him the said |
|
|
John McAninch his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Aaron Brown for himself his heirs |
|
|
executors administrators & assigns doth hereby promise covenant and agree to and with the said |
|
|
John McAninch his heirs & assigns that he the said Aaron Brown his heirs executors administrators |
|
|
and assigns shall and will at all times warrant & defend the above described land and premises to |
|
|
the said John McAninch his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of any person or persons |
|
|
(except that part lying south west of the Indian boundary line until such time as the Indian claim |
|
|
thereunto may be extinguished by our government whereby the same may be affected or |
|
|
encumbered contrary to the true intent and meaning of these presents) |
|
|
In witness whereof the said Aaron Brown hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year |
|
|
above written. |

to be his act and deed and ordered to be Certified for Registration |

In testimony whereof I, German Lester, clerk of said Court have hereunto set my hand and affixed |

the seal of said Court at office in Pulaski this 27th day of May 1816 |
