Bert Austin’s "McAninch Family Genealogical Data: ca 1746-1988, in Kentucky" [Note 1]

Bert Addis Austin (b.1926, d.1994) was an active Kentucky researcher in the 1960s-1970s-1980s,

with extensive records of the Austin and McAninch families, as well as Ashley, Brackett, Brown,

Durham, Elliott, Fletcher, Hatter, Humphrey, Morgan, Sanders, Wesley, and many other families.

Bert Addis Austin was born 11 Dec. 1926, Poplar Hill, Casey County, Kentucky, first and oldest

child of Bertman ‘Bert’ Austin (b.1904, d.1978) and Eursla (McAninch) Austin (b.1909, d.1957).

Bert Austin was a grand-son of Everett McAninch (b.1882, d.1958) and Roshia 'Rosie' (Morgan)

McAninch (b.1883, d.1961), great-grand-son of William F. McAninch (b.1849, d.1902) and

(Mary) Elizabeth 'Lizzie' (Ross) McAninch (b.1856, d.1943), g-g-grand-son of William B. 'Berry'

McAninch (b.1829, d.1891) and Nancy Ann (Morgan) McAninch (b.1818, d.1886), g3-grand-son

of George A. McAninch (b.1794 Virginia, d.1870) and Mary Elizabeth 'Betsy' (Ross) McAninch

(b.1794, d.1850-1858), and g4-grand-son of original Kentucky pioneer Daniel (O.?) McAninch

(b.ca.1748-1752 Ireland (prob. County Antrim), prob. died ca.1822, Giles County, Tennessee).

Bert Austin grew up in Ohio, in Elmwood Place and Cincinnati, both in Hamilton County, Ohio.

Bert joined the military in World War II, and served in Korea and Vietnam, as a Master Sergeant

in the U.S. Air Force. Bert married Fern Joan Hagemeyer (b.1929, d.2016), married 5 Feb. 1955,

in Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana, and they had five children. Later, Bert lived in Kentucky

(Stanford, county seat of Lincoln County, and was a Notary Public, commission expired 1985),

then retired in Arizona (Queen Creek, Maricopa County). Bert died 30 Jan. 1994, and is buried

in Kentucky (Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Nicholasville, Jessamine County). [Note 2]
