Having just moved to Jackson County, the 1830 census finds Henry and Mary enumerated with 

the Eli Moore family [son-in-law Eli Moore and daughter Sarah ‘Sally’ (McAninch) Moore]:

one male '10-15' [unknown (possibly a younger brother of Eli?)]

 

one male '20-30' [Eli Moore himself, head of household; Eli born 1808, age 22 in 1830]

 

one male '50-60' [not Eli; believed to be Sarah's father, Henry McAninch, age 53 in 1830]

 

one female '20-30' [Sarah ‘Sally’ (McAninch) Moore, born 1810, age 20 in 1830]

 

one female '40-50' [not Sarah; believed to be her mother, Mary McAninch, age 42 in 1830]

 

Henry and Mary lived in Jackson County, Ohio, for the rest of their lives, and can be found there

in both of the 1840 and 1850 census records:

and 1 female, 50-60] [wife Mary, born June 1, 1788, age 52 in June, 1840] [Note 13]

Henry McAninch died 28 Sept. 1856, probably at his home in Lick Township, Jackson County,

and Henry is buried in James Cemetery, Jackson, Jackson County, Ohio [Notes 15, 16]. 

 

Henry McAninch’s Will was probated on 6 Oct. 1856, Jackson County, Ohio, leaving everything

to his wife Mary, with Mary and son-in-law Eli Moore named as Executors, and, at Mary’s death

“any amount of my estate which may remain in her possession unexpended be equally divided

between my heirs, that is to say, one third part to my daughter Ann Tilden wife of David Tilden

[sic, Tilden, not Tilton], one third part to Sally Moore wife of Eli Moore, and one third part to the

heirs of Nancy Noel late wife of Philip Noel.” [Note 17] 

 

In the 1860 census, all of the surviving family members are still living in Jackson County, Ohio
