“Sunnyside was, and is, a small settlement in the southern part of the White River |
Valley. It started as a ranch owned by a man named Horton. He built the ranch in the |
1880's, and soon a small settlement surrounded it. A Post Office, with Mary Horton |
as postmaster, opened on July 10, 1880, and served the whole White River valley. |
The small settlement never really grew, but it did have a small mercantile store that |
provided supplies for the many ranches in the valley.” |
