Two years ago, after my cousin Lillian died (Lillian Louise McAninch, b.1932, d.2004, in Arizona), |
|
a tattered old ‘shoe box’ full of old photographs and other family memorabilia came to me. This was |
|
the collection of Rhoda (Wilson) McAninch (1849-1930), wife of Daniel A. McAninch (1850-1930), |
|
and included portraits, snapshots, school photographs, wedding pictures, and quite a few postcards |
|
(postcards were a very popular format in the early 20th Century, have your pictures taken at a |
|
photographer’s studio, could be mailed ‘back home’ with a 2-cent stamp, or just ‘hand delivered’). |
|
Over 50 of these pictures and other items have now been scanned into computer image files, many of |
|
the people have been identified, and the collection of ‘Rhoda’s Pictures’ is now available online -- |
|
