KILWAUGHTER CEMETERY	O.S. Antrim 40. Grid Ref D357006
This is in the townland of Rory's Glen, civil parish of Kilwaughter, and barony of Upper Glenarm,
and about two hundred yards north of Kilwaughter cross roads. A public meeting in Kilwaughter
Orange Hall on 8th May 1876 was advertised for all those interested in establishing a new cemetery
for Kilwaughter. The land was donated by Mr. Baillie for a burial ground and the enclosing wall built
at his expense. . . . All stones with dates of death before 1900 have been copied.		(page 5)

[The Will of James Bailie, formerly of Kilwaugher and late of St. John’s Place, Larne, county

Antrim, farmer, who died 24 May 1895 at latter place, was proved at Belfast 7 August 1895 by

Robert McNinch of Hightown and Lennon Knox of Lealies, both in said county, the executors]

John McNinch, Hightown, died 20th July 1887. Ann Jane his wife, 2nd January 1894. Isabella,

4th May 1873, buried in Old Cemetery. George, 12th May 1909. Robert, 22nd January 1928.

William McNinch, Belfast, died 17th February 1919. Anna Bella his wife, 2nd Oct. 1880.

Anna Bella his daughter, 2nd November 1936.

Joseph McNinch M.D., Larne, died 3rd June 1902. And his wife Sarah died 14th October

1953. William McNinch, younger son, died 25th March 1960 aged 62 years. Samuel George

McNinch died 6th Feb. 1966 aged 70 years, elder son of Joseph and Sarah McNinch.

In memory of Robert Bailie McNinch, Larne, born 5th Feby. 1870, died 9th July 1908.
Hugh Bailie McNinch born 6th Sept. 1875, died at Texas, U.S.A., 19th June 1909.
Their mother Marianne, wife of John McNinch, Larne, born 25th May 1846, died 16th Feb. 1915.
John McNinch, born 25th July 1873, died 2nd Dec. 1918, interred in City Cemetery.
The above John McNinch, Larne, born 24th Jan. 1841 died 21st Jan. 1922. Isa McNinch,
last surviving daughter of the above John and Marianne McNinch, died 22nd August 1948.
[The will of John McNinch, late of Hightown, Kilwaughter, county Antrim, farmer, who died
20 July 1887 at same place, was proved at Belfast 9 March 1888 by John McNinch of Larne,
merchant, and Robert McNinch of Hightown, farmer, both in said county, the executors.]
[Joseph McNinch was born on 24 January 1856, son of the above John McNinch of Kilwaughter.
He studied medicine at Queen' s College, Belfast, graduating M.D. in 1883. He practised first in
Ballyclare and from c 1890 in Pound Street, Larne. He married on 7 October 1892 Sarah Smiley,
daughter of Samuel Smiley, farmer, of Dromaine, Larne.]	(pg. 17-18)
