McNinch in County Antrim: The Ulster Historical Foundation recently published another book |
|
in their Gravestone Inscriptions, County Antrim series. Larne is a port city on the North Channel |
|
coast, twenty miles north of Belfast; and east of Ballymena. Roman galleys sheltered in Larne Lough, |
|
and the Vikings called it Olderfleet. Larne was a major port of emigration in the eighteenth century; |
|
today, it is a modern ferry port, with multiple routes to Scotland, only thirty miles across the channel. |

Saturn: 2005 -- One of my personal favorites; eight years ago we sent our names to Saturn, on the |
|
Cassini-Huygens spacecraft, launched by NASA on October 15, 1997 (MFHN v.V n.4 p.1997-28). |
|
After a seven-year trip, the spacecraft arrived at Saturn in July, 2004, and went into orbit around |
|
the ringed planet. In January, 2005, the European Space Agency's Huygens probe descended to the |
|
