Oliver Olin McAninch was the fifth child of Joseph McAninch; Joseph was born 2 April 1821, |
Casey County, Kentucky; and died 9 March 1907, Ringgold County, Iowa. Joseph was third |
son of Samuel and Polly (Skidmore) McAninch, and a grand-son of Daniel McAninch, one of |
the original 1790’s McAninch pioneers in the knob country of Lincoln County, Kentucky. |

Marriage records, Ringgold County, Iowa. The Marriage Register from Ringgold County |
shows the marriage on August 13, and the Record of Certificate file shows September 13 as |
the date of marriage, with certificate being recorded on Sept. 26, 76. However, the next |
recorded document on file shows a marriage on August 17, and a date of recording on |
Aug 29, 76. It appears that a recording error was made on the date of the marriage on the |
recording of the certificate for Deborah and Oliver, with the apparent correct date being |
August 13, 1876. |

February 1882: “Mr. Joseph McAninch, of Caledonia, received a telegram last Friday, |
announcing that his daughter, Mrs. Sharp, of Wilson County, Kansas, was ill and not expected |
to live. He started on Monday to see her”, in 'Ringgold Record' newspaper, 9 Feb. 1882, pg. 4. |
Feb. 9, the date of the newspaper, was a Thursday. The Monday he started to see her would |
have been Feb. 6. If she died on Feb. 4, which was a Saturday, Joseph would have been too |
late. There was nothing in the next editions of the paper to follow up on this bit of news of her |
death or his trip to Kansas. Research by Rosalie Eben Schack, CGRS, Owatonna, Minnesota. |

north side of the building, and since later pictures show the addition, cars, larger trees, etc.] |

Family photograph, taken prior to 1907, probably in Aitken, Minnesota |

[Dick said: I have another group picture of Oliver and family, taken the day of Elizabeth's |
wedding, June 1911. Theo Faye, the youngest daughter, born 1897, is definitely a couple of |
years older in 1911, definitely in her teens. Also, based upon Perry's aging over the years, |
I believe this picture was taken prior to 1907. In Perry's wedding picture of July 1907 he is |
considerably thinner in the face, taking on Oliver's look. And Theo is a young girl (in this |
picture) … I would guess that the picture was taken before 1907, (and probably) in Aitkin] |
