There are two other relevant records in the 1840 census (in addition to John McAninch, above) --

1840: “Campbell, Zeno 0 0 0 0 1 - [0?] 2 0 0 1”; Maury County, Tenn. [M704 Roll 532 pg. 307]

1 male 20-30

[Zeno himself, head of household; age 20-30, so, Zeno born 1810-1820];

2 females 5-10

[assumed, Mary Narcissa, born 1831, and Martha Jane, born 1832-1833];

1 female 20-30

[assumed, Susan/Susannah (Reed), age 20-30, so, (est.) born 1810-1820].

1840: “Henry McAninch 0010 010 000 000 - 2110 100 000 000”; McNairy Co., M704 roll 529 p.38

1 M 30-40 [b.1800-1810; Henry, head-of-household]

[and his wife]

1 F 20-30 [b.1810-1820]

1 M 10-15 [b.1825-1830]

1 F 10-15 [b.1825-1830]

and

1 F 5-10 [b.1830-1835] [not 2, not Mary and Martha]

2 F  0- 5 [b.1835-1840]

And, the 1850 census gives us a lot of information, including (approximate) birth years, and (state) locations, for all six people in Zeno’s family in 1850. Other 1850 census records locate the two older girls, Mary Narcissa and Martha Jane, both still in (neighboring) Giles County, Tennessee --

(Census) Notes:

C1. Robert Reed, not Robert C. Reed [this Robert Reed married Elizabeth “Betsey” Myers]

C2. “Martha J. McInish”, 1850, is Martha Jane McA/I/Ninch, age 17, b. 1832-1833, in Tenn. (prob. Giles County), living there with her maternal grand-parents, Robert and Elizabeth (Myers) Reed.

C3. “Mary Ann” Thompson, 1850, age 19, is really Mary Narcissa (McNinch) Thompson; perhaps she said "Mary N.", and the census taker wrote "Mary Ann" when he transcribed his field notes (?)

C4. Another McAninch-Thompson connection; John and Patsy (Cooper) McAninch and daughter Jane  lived in Giles Co., ca. 1812 to late 1840’s; Jane mar. ___ Thompson, ca. 1836-37, prob. Giles Co.
