The Editor’s Corner

A big Christmas welcome to our latest “found” cousin, David McAninch, a Realtor in Spokane (David McAninch, 1209 West Cliffwood Court, Spokane, Washington 99218). David is a descendant of William McAninch (died 1813, Casey Co., KY.); his son William, b.Abt.1805, Lincoln Co., KY, went to DeSoto Co., MS.; his son John Forrest McAninch, who married (2nd) Sarah J. McDaniel, Bell Co., TX., 1858; and their son John D. McAninch, b.1861, Bell Co., TX., who is David’s grandfather. David promised to provide photo copies from “a very old family Bible”, back to John F. McAninch!!!

Hard to believe that this is the end of our fourth Newsletter year. As often happens, these will be mailed on my way to the airport, off to New York on business, a week in the mid-Hudson River valley. Thank you, again, to everyone who contributed some new information this year, and let’s hope that next year will be even better yet. Keep those cards and letters (and e-mail) coming, and ...

Merry Christmas to All, and to all a good night.

Query from the Internet: “The earliest McAninch in my database is George Carpenter McAninch, b.10 March 1885 at Bachelor, Callaway Co., MO., d. 08 July 1971 at Seattle, King Co., Washington, married 7 April 1912 at Stevensville, Ravalli Co., MT., to Lucy Geanette Hightower, b. 7 January 1894 at Stevensville, Ravalli Co., MT., d. 3 December 1966 at Seattle, King Co., Washington. Do you have any connection to this George McAninch? Regards, Tony [Rockefeller]”

Tonight’s Weather:

Forecaster warns you to expect darkness until sunrise, accompanied

by variable high cloudiness, which you won’t be able to see anyway.
