Welcome to the second issue composed entirely in Microsoft Word 6.0, printed on our new computer

system (Hewlett-Packard DeskJet 660C). Despite my years of computer programming work (or, maybe

because of that mindset), it’s not easy learning a real word processor, and the new format hasn’t settled

yet. We’re looking for feedback on this new layout, please let us know what you like and … don’t like.

And welcome to two new contributors, on different lines, descended from William McAninch, western

Pennsylvania, who married Isabel Hopkins. William is one of the “three brothers”, William, Henry,

and John, and, possibly, son of John McAninch, b. Bef. 1765, prob. Ireland (John McA. chart, below).

1. Nancy Jane McAninch Schriber, 609 Owatonna Street, Mankato, Minnesota 56001, and

2. Thomas D. Greene, 8553 Dundee Rd, Erie, Penn. 16509 (wife and sister-in-law have McA. lines).

This new info, combined with data previously received from Harold S. McAninch (Aurora, Colorado,

and Sun City, Ariz.), updates William’s descendancy chart to 326 people! This is a large print-out, and

a copy has been mailed to these contributors; a full copy is also available to anyone else, upon request.

Also, welcome Charles (Chuck) McAninch, 1350 West Mariquita Street, Green Valley, Arizona 85614,

descended from Jesse McAninch (b.Abt.1813, Casey Co., KY, lived in Carrollton, Greene Co., Illinois).

Chuck and Fred McAninch are brothers; the address given for Fred was wrong in the previous issue;

Fred’s correct address: Fred McAninch, 218 West Knox Dr., Tucson, Arizona 85705-3221 (not 418).

Thanks to everyone who contributed some new material this year; working on future articles focusing

on “McAninch, Kentucky to Tennessee-to-Missouri-and-beyond”, research in colonial Pennsylvania,

and Civil War project (McA/I/Ninch in the Civil War, Confederate soldiers, Union soldiers, etc.). And,

in 1796, Tennessee became our 16th State, and is celebrating their Bi-Centennial, 1996; congratulations.
