1844: Samuel McAninch sold 147 acres to Amos F. Jones, 24 Oct. 1844

[Text starts on page 239] This indenture made and entered into this this [sic] twenty

fourth of October One thousand Eight hundred + forty four Samuel McAninch of the

State of Indiana, Hendricks County on the one part and Amos F. Jones of the State of

Kentucky and Co. of Casey on the other part [_?_?_] of Baptist McKee legatee of

Matthew McKee deceased

Witnesseth as follows that the said Samuel McAninch for and in consideration of the

sum of two hundred fifty dollars to him paid in hand by the said Matthew McKee before

the sealing of this presents whereof he the said McAninch for the receipt of the same

doth acknowledge that he hath he hath [sic] bargained and sold the aforesaid Matthew

McKee dec'd one hundred + forty seven acre of land and through him to Amos F. Jones

assignee of Baptist McKee lawful heir and legatee of said Matthew McKee deceased

lying + being in the County of Casey and Pulaski on the ridges of the waters of Fishing

Creek and bounded as follows to wit

Beginning at white oak and dogwood on Amos F. Jones line and with his line S 41 W 100

poles to a stake near a sink hole, thence S 3 E 23 poles to an ash thence S 40 East 152

poles to a black oak hickory thence S 70 E 30 poles to a black gum + ded [sic] black oak

thence N 41 E 118 poles to three white oak thence N 48 W 194 poles to the Beginning

the said Samuel McAninch causes with all its appurtenances to have and to hold the

above tract of land to him the said Amos F. Jones assignee of Baptist McKee lawful heir

+ legatee of Matthew McKee deceased to said Jones his heirs and assigns forever + the

said Samuel McAninch [page 240] do warrant + defend the said tract of land with all its

[ap]pertanances and privileges from me and my lawful heirs + assigns forever and from

all prior claim or claims forever

In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal in present of witnesses here of

partly proven and on the 7th of May 1847 by the oath of Thomas E. Jones was fully

proven to be the act + deed of Samuel McAninch the grantor . . . recorded . . .

Note 1844-2: Now 147 acres, clearly the same land surveyed in 1813, and 1836

Land Grant (135 acres in both documents); the "Amos F. Jones line" here was

"William McAninch line" in 1813 and 1836 [1st 1841 sale above]

1846: James R. McAninch bought "9 a. on Knob Lick" from Betsey Ann and

Gilmore Phelps [Casey Co. Grantee "K-R, Thru 1962", Deed bk 34 pg. 366]
