attorney in fact of Samuel McAninch all of the County of Casey and State of Kentucky

and Ambrose Butt of the County and State afsd [aforesaid] witnesseth that the above

named McAninchs for a consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to them in hand

payed [sic] by the said Ambrose Butt before the selling of these presents whereof the

said Jonathon, William + Jesse McAninch and George McAninch attorney in fact for

Samuel McAninch for the receipt of the same doth acknowledge that they have this

day bargained and sold to the aforesaid Ambrose Butt and do hereby bargain sell +

deliver to the said Ambrose Butt one hundred and forty-three acres of land being a

part of a tract of 286 acres lying in part in Pulaski + part in Casey County on the ridges

of the Rock Lick Fork of Fishing Creek and bound as follows to wit

Beginning at a stake where the original survey corner stood a poplar thence N 20 E 92

poles to a white oak thence N 12 W 94 poles to a chestnut now fallen down thence

N 41 E 62 poles to a white oak William McAninch line thence with his line N 3 W 66 poles

to a spanish oak an[d] hickory on said line thence S 88 W 15 poles to a dogwood thence

N 80 W 20 poles to a black oak an[d] hickory saplin[g] thence N 65 W 26 [16?46?] poles

to poplar saplin[g] thence N 85 W 45 poles to an ash white oak + hickory on the original

line thence S 15 W 184 poles to pointer[?] thence S 27 E 180 poles to the Beginning

the said Jonathon McAninch, William McAninch, Jesse McAninch and George McAninch

attorney in fact of Samuel McAninch ... set our hand and seal the 27 day of September

in the year of our Lord 1841

Note 1841-2: Clearly, two sales, each is a half of 286-acre land grant:

1st: "part of... 286 acres ... legatees of William McAninch deceased"

2nd: "part of... 286 acres ... part in Pulaski + part in Casey County"

 

Note 1841-3: William McAninch [b.Bef.1765] died 1813, five sons in will:

1. James McAninch  b.1797-1800 [Bef.1789], age and whereabouts in 1841 unknown

2. Jonathan McAninch   b. 1799 [1789], 42 [52], living in Casey County Kentucky

3. William D. McAninch b.Abt.1805, age 36, living in Casey County Kentucky

4. Samuel McAninch     b.Apr.1807, age 34, now living Cass County Missouri

5. Jesse McAninch      b.Aft.1807, age unknown, res. Casey Co. Kentucky

    [b.ca.1812; in 1841, Jesse lived in Pulaski County, Kentucky; 1999 /fm]

for Samuel McAninch, who moved to Cass County, Missouri in 1835; Was this
